Child Saved by SonarGuard® and Aquamatic - May 1, 2005

A confirmed “catch and save” was reported to pool builder Aquatic Technology in Los Altos, California by one of their clients. The pool was equipped with the SonarGuard® Pool Security System and Aquamatic’s HydraLux rigid slatted cover.
A visiting child fell onto the HydraLux slatted cover while playing in the backyard. The SonarGuard® system instantly sounded the alarm. The client ran outside to find the child atop the HydraLux cover, slightly wet and trying to scramble to safety. She assisted him off of the cover to safety.
The redundancy of the two systems worked as designed. Though not ASTM rated as a safety cover in the United States, the HydraLux rigid slatted cover supported the child above water and the SonarGuard® system put out the cry for help.
The client is grateful for such a great pairing of products!
